…uncommon goods

I am super excited to talk about my next guest here on Blue Egg Brown Nest – Uncommon Goods! I started getting their catalog a few years ago. Chances are you have too.

They are a company out of Brooklyn, which makes them extra cool because this is where my one and only sister lives with her sweet family.

(Brooklyn Army Terminal – where their offices are.)

Uncommon Goods work with artists and designers to offer innovative and creative products. All their offerings are environmentally and animal-friendly as we should all strive to be, yes? Most are made in the USA and about 1/3 of their products are made from recycled & upcycled materials. How many companies can say that?

Since they are an independently supported business they have the freedom to donate a portion of each purchase to a few chosen non-profits like RAINN, City Harvest and Women for Women International. This is their “Better to Give” attitude. Love that.

Let’s check out some of their clever products here.

I have always loved these hand sew pillows. Faux animal heads? Yes, please.

Dear Husband, check out some of their mother’s day offerings here :)

Of course I had to highlight anything bird related….or tea related.

Journal love here.

I have always been impressed by Uncommon Goods’ selection of inovative and clever products, but I did not know everything about the integrity of the company. I love that they find it so important to serve the creative designer. In a world where we are bombarded by commercialism it is so important to highlight those individuals that work with their hands and also strive to produce environmentally responsible products.

Hello, custom family pillow.

I love the idea of supporting a company that has a conscience. I think it is so important.

…brown nest green eggs?

Oh my!

My favorite wholesaler finally got some more nest in. They are meant to be three little blue robin’s eggs in a twiggy nest. Many of you have purchased them from me in the past. Well, when they got here, they were big, beautiful and kinda greenish. Does it take away from them that they are not Blue Egg Brown Nest’s shade of blue? Nope.

I think a nest is a perfect, little detail. Think on top of a chunky candle holder or under a glass cloche. Think nestled in a bookcase or a glass lantern.

Sorry! I get carried away taking pictures of nests! I think they look good in every shot.

Nest with Eggs…$12 each.

I am doing porch pick-ups for these. Email me & I’ll leave on the porch with your name on it for you to pick up at your convenience. You can put a check in the mailbox. Yes, I do trust anyone that loves a nest! So sorry, but I’m not shipping right now.
